One-Stop Communications of Pa Inc. is proud to announce the successful completion of their first fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) internet project, bringing lightning-fast internet speeds to the residents of the Juniata Terrace in Mifflin County.

The project, finalized in early June, allows One-Stop to transition their existing wireless customers to superior reliability and ultra-fast fiber-optic network. Additionally, they are now scheduling installations for new customers who have eagerly awaited the project’s completion.

One-Stop holds the distinction of being the first internet provider to offer fiber-optic service to Juniata Terrace residents. This innovative technology boasts symmetrical download and upload speeds capable of up to a staggering 10 gigabits per second (Gbps), revolutionizing how residents connect, work, and entertain themselves online. For details on available packages and pricing, please visit terrace.onestop.biz.

  • Mike Buffington, CFO of One-Stop, said, “The Juniata Terrace is like home to me. My mother’s family moved here shortly after the American Viscose built these homes to escape the dangers of the coal mining industry. I have many fond memories of this community growing up and visiting family here. You could say the Juniata Terrace is part of my family’s DNA. It’s an honor and exciting to be involved in a project that improves connectivity to the world as the community celebrates 100 years.”
  • Cody Wian, CEO of One-Stop, “As an Internet Service Provider (ISP), we are committed to providing our customers with the most advanced connection options available. While our wireless service is a fantastic option for residents in rural areas, we are constantly pushing the boundaries of technology. The launch of fiber-optic internet at the Juniata Terrace exemplifies this commitment. With speeds reaching up to 10 Gbps, fiber offers a significant leap forward. We are thrilled to bring this service to the Juniata Terrace, marking a crucial step in our ongoing mission to deliver the best internet options, all from a local, trusted provider.”

Coaxial Cable Cutting Ceremony
To celebrate this milestone and mark the shift from traditional cable to fiber-optic technology, One-Stop will host a special Coaxial Cable Cutting Ceremony on:

  • Date: Wednesday, June 26th, 2024
  • Time: 1:00 PM
  • Location: Juniata Terrace Borough Office

Did you know that One-Stop Communications has been the go-to provider for satellite TV, security systems, and other wireless services in Mifflin County for the past 27 years? One-Stop Communications was opened in 1996 by Michael Buffington after leaving his position as an estimator and project manager for a local electrical contractor. In 1995, he started his own business wiring homes and businesses for communication products and services, such as business phone systems, computer networks, security, and satellite services. During his first year of business, he noticed the emergence of wireless phones and satellite TV as mainstream products. In 1996, after partnering with several companies to offer their products, Michael decided to open a retail store and hired his first full-time employee. Since then, One-Stop Communications has continued to grow and has become an award-winning retailer for many of the carriers and companies they have worked with. Today, One-Stop Communications is located at 101 East Market Street in downtown Lewistown. Their recent merger with Mifflin County Wireless and Telecentive is a testament to their determination for continuous growth and drive to provide Mifflin County with the most advanced communication services.
